Provencal markets

In addition to its sumptuous landscapes, its climate that makes jealous every city-dweller and its sweet life, one of the main attractive feature of Provence is its gastronomy. Tapenade, anchoïade, aïoli, ratatouille, pissaladière, brissaouda, bouillabaisse, soup with pistou, Poutargue of Martigues, andouillettes with Provençale, moutounesse, calissons of Aix, shuttles of Marseilles, Galapian d'Apt ... As many indicative names that resonates like the guarantee of  a happy stomach in the sun!

In order to savor all these local deliciousness, rendez-vous at the many markets of Aix-en-Provence. Olives of Baux-de-Provence, figs of Solliès, strawberries of Carpentras, melons of Cavaillon, truffles of Ventoux: come and discover these rare and tasty products, which have been cultivated with love for centuries, and which still make the reputation of the whole region.

Behind the grain market of Aix-en-Provence, every morning, there is a market on Place Richelme, a place which is a delight for the eyes as well as the taste buds. The market gardeners have been there since the fourteenth century!

In Aix, food is a real institution, especially the good local products -. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings, the city center becomes a vast open-air market: on the Place des Prêcheurs you can find some organic products. On the Place de la Madeleine, as well as fruits, vegetables, cheeses and meat. On the Place Richelme stands the Provencal market (fruits and vegetables of the region, spices and cheeses, etc ...). On the square of the Palais de Justice are set up the craft stands, the flea market, as well as the clothing market. Finally, on the Place of the City Hall, it is an explosion of colors and scents with the flower market.
